The Hertfordshire Cancer Support Group for Women offers friendship and support to all women affected by cancer, either as patient or as carer.
We have a varied programme of interesting and enjoyable talks, activities and outings all of which provide opportunities to get to know other women who may have had similar experiences and treatments. Membership of the Group is free.
Our prime objective is to provide a pleasant and safe environment away from family and close friends where women can talk freely about their journey with cancer, compare notes and experiences. It can be quite liberating to find that someone else really does understand the domestic, professional and personal challenges that you may be facing as a result of your cancer - the type of issues that you may feel are beyond the reach of the health professionals.
As a Group we are committed to having fun along the way and our programme for the year and our gallery of photographs demonstrates this admirably.
Our meetings take place on the second Wednesday of every month in the Breast Unit at the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City, unless the programme indicates otherwise. We get together at 7.30pm to share some light refreshments and conversation and our guest speaker, when we have one, starts his/her presentation at 8.00pm. We usually end the evening by 9.30pm.
We will be delighted to see you at one of our meetings; you can just show up and join in and membership of the Group is free.
However, if you would simply prefer to talk to someone about the Group or about issues you may be facing as a result of cancer, please either telephone us or send an email and we will get back to you.
We may not have chosen our cancer journey, but we meet lots of wonderful people along the way.
By the way, the cyclamen in our logo represents the cycle of life and circle of friendship.
